India is home to 46.6 million stunted children, a third of world’s total as per Global Nutrition Report 2018. Nearly half of all under-5 child mortality in India is attributable to undernutrition.
No country can aim to attain economic and social development goals without addressing the issues of malnutrition and undernutrition. Our Nutritional Security Program targets children below age 10 and provides them with dairy-based nutritional support, primarily regular milk supply. We partner with local dairies and brands in select geographies in India to execute this program. Till date, more than 500 children have benefited from this program.
In addition to NSP, Roots also conducts eye and medical check-up camps in all communities it operates in on an ongoing basis. Roots is also entering into a partnership with a telemedicine company founded by senior doctors from AIIMS, Delhi which will provide remote consultation facilities to its rural communities.
