Brief
Under this program, Roots Foundation organized numerous awareness drives and demonstrations in the farmer fields of Rajasthan of India under a partnership model with farmers to train thousands of farmers on how to prepare and use Pusa solutions in their fields. The Pusa bio decomposer, developed by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), helps decompose the stubble left after paddy, wheat and other such crops when harvested. The spraying of Pusa decomposer instead of burning the stubble saves the greenhouse gas emissions and improves the quality of soil, air and the next crop. Positive results have been observed on more than 5000 acres.
